Very cool. I've been thinking about that for a few years now, and I've got a few friends now who are general contractors/wire lathers/electricians/plumbers/welders, so, things might come together nicely, assuming I can afford that much beer :D

:rolleyes_m: I once saw an I Beam frame duplex built out of 4 seagoing shipping containers down in Brazil back in the 90s.

The contractor poured the footers,erected a huge box frame and stacked 4 containers two up...two down.

Used a big heavy equipment excavator to just slide them in the frame and weld them in place.

Pretty cool and fast...all wiring and plumbing in the center of the frame attached to all 4 units from one common location.

Cut out some windows and doors,install a bathroom,a few kitchen cabinets in each one and instant 4 family duplex ready to rent or sale.

Used cargo sea containers are bombproof and cheap.
Built like tanks.

Haven't saw any in the States,but it's a cheap way to NOT build a house and have instant shelter.

Wish I had a pic...they were quite nice after you saw the finished structure.
